We have it so easy. We don’t go hungry, we have food and shelter, friends and family. But it was all so different for Isaac Liu. When Isaac was in the womb, his dad, Brother Yun, was thrown into jail for daring to preach about Christ in a communist society. Isaac’s birth was a miracle and despite growing up in poverty and hardship and being ostracised by his village, he grew to experience the miraculous hand of God making provision for them in many situations.
As you read through the pages of his testimony (Son of the Underground) set in modern China, you begin to see real faith shining through the difficulties and hardships. That faith is quite challenging, making some of the trivia of the church in the UK seem quite irrelevant.
It seems very clear from this story where God’s heart is and it stirs up a challenge in us all to pray. I can thoroughly recommend this book.
